About the position

Country Arch Care Center is seeking a reliable and devoted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. The role requires adherence to federal, state, and local standards, ensuring the highest quality of care is maintained. The LPN will work the 3p-11p shift and will be responsible for various nursing duties, including medication administration and maintaining a positive environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
  • Meet with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan the shift's services, programs, and activities.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  • Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to the unit/shift.
  • Complete and file required record-keeping forms/charts upon resident's admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Receive and transcribe telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physician's Order Form.
  • Chart nurse's notes in an informative and descriptive manner reflecting the care provided and the resident's response.
  • Fill out and complete accident/incident reports and submit to the Director as required.
  • Perform routine charting duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
  • Receive/give the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
  • Make rounds with physicians as necessary.
  • Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, and care for the dead/dying as required.
  • Monitor assigned personnel to ensure compliance with established safety regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and report any unauthorized disclosures.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.
  • Current CPR Certification is required.
  • At least 1 year of Supervisory Experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
