About the position
The LVN/LPT Supervisor at Telecare Corporation is responsible for overseeing Mental Health Workers in a psychiatric health facility, ensuring effective resident care and compliance with established policies. This role involves hiring, evaluating, scheduling, and coordinating care for residents, while also providing direct clinical services and participating in multidisciplinary treatment planning. The position is crucial in maintaining a therapeutic environment and supporting the mission of delivering excellent behavioral health services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Mental Health Workers, including hiring, evaluating, and scheduling duties.
- Coordinate resident care and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Provide clinical services, including assessing resident conditions and administering medications.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and team meetings.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with residents.
- Observe and report on resident behavior and medication effects.
- Promote self-help skills among residents and manage behavior effectively.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in psychiatric nursing in a skilled nursing facility or acute care setting.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Graduation from a Vocational Nursing/Psychiatric Technician program.
- Current licensure and valid CPR Certificate required.
- Understanding of psychiatric illness and treatment, including psychotropic medications.
- Knowledge of behavior management and relevant laws and regulations in California.
