The Machine Operator at RBC Southwest Products, Inc. in Baldwin Park, CA, is responsible for operating machine shop and mold press equipment as part of the assembly process. The operator will also perform preventative maintenance on machines as required by the preventative maintenance charts. The position demands a willingness to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding machine set-up. Responsibilities
- Operate machine shop and mold press equipment in the assembly process under supervision.
- Perform typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floor.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
- Conduct tasks such as milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and inspecting products.
- Accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with machine set-up.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-2 years of factory-related experience.
- Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness, and quality system awareness.
- Competence to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to present information effectively one-on-one.
- Good computer, math, and reading skills needed.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
