About the position

The Mainframe ETL Informatica Developer will play a crucial role in the Business Master File Modernization (BMF Mod) initiative, which aims to modernize the IRS's legacy tax processing systems. This position involves supporting the design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of a modernized BMF platform, as well as providing ongoing operations and maintenance support based on IRS priorities. The role is essential for improving taxpayer experience and reducing reliance on outdated technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and assistance in the design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of a modernized BMF platform.
• Support day-to-day Operations & Maintenance (O&M) work based on IRS priorities.
• Manage project management tasks related to O&M, development, modernization, enhancements, and software development.
• Implement legislative changes and developmental O&M upgrades.

Requirements

• 7+ years of development experience in a mainframe environment.
• 7+ years experience with mainframe database and applications (COBOL, Assembler).
• 7+ years experience with ETL workflow creation using Informatica.
• 7+ years experience with PL/SQL (or other database languages), Unix scripting, Databases/NoSQL (ideally Oracle and MS-SQL), AWS Cloud, and data transformation.
• US Citizen or Green card holder.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to write Java, Python, or Spark/Scala scripts.
• Data-Modeling skills.
• Ability to create visualizations on DataSets using Looker or Power BI.
