About the position

The Maintenance Associate role at JTI involves assisting maintenance specialists with preventative and corrective maintenance on processing equipment. The position is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery, particularly during production runs and off-seasons. The individual will report to the Maintenance Manager and work collaboratively with various teams to maintain equipment functionality and adhere to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with Maintenance Supervisor on assignment of tasks and provide hands-on support for mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Submit Maintenance Work-orders in SAP Maintenance tracking system and verify completion of tasks.
  • Provide mechanical or electrical support to processing supervisors during production breakdowns.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are completed in a timely, professional, and safe manner to eliminate downtime.
  • Provide feedback to managers on improvements to reduce downtime and equipment failure.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Processing, Quality, and EHS teams to ensure optimal equipment efficiency.
  • Align with EHS standards and ensure proper use of PPE and safety measures.
  • Monitor colleagues and contractors for safety compliance and provide feedback.

Requirements

  • Mechanical or electrical associate degree or equivalent experience with 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial environment.
  • Mechanical/electrician experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication and writing skills in English.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient computer skills.
