As a Maintenance Electrician at Nestlé, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing operations at one of the largest pet food facilities in the U.S., located in Davenport, Iowa. This facility has a rich history, having transitioned from cereal production to pet food manufacturing in the late 1990s, and is now a leader in the pet care industry. Your primary responsibilities will include performing preventative electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing all electrical equipment within the factory. You will be expected to adhere to plant sanitation practices and stay updated on new technologies and equipment relevant to plant operations. Safety is paramount, and you will be required to work in a safe manner at all times, contributing to machine reliability and process improvements across the plant. The maintenance work you will engage in includes both predictive and preventative maintenance, ensuring that our production lines operate smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will utilize a variety of maintenance equipment, including hand tools, lifts, threaders, benders, drills, and welding equipment. You will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining switch gears, control wiring, and components, as well as overcurrent and overload protection for plant motors, including three-phase systems. Additionally, you will design, program, and troubleshoot plant PLCs, VFDs, input/output devices, and associated equipment. Your ability to read, update, and create electrical prints and documentation will be essential, as will your skills in properly installing conduit, raceways, and fittings. You will also use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators to troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical equipment. Flexibility is key, as you must be open to working all shifts to meet the operational needs of the facility.
