About the position

Join Dura-Line, an Orbia business, as a Maintenance Electrician in Gainesville, TX, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing process. As a leading manufacturer of plastic conduit pipes, Dura-Line is committed to quality, sustainability, and safety in every aspect of our operations. In this position, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining a wide range of electrical systems within our plant, including drive panels, enclosures, motors, PLCs, and control devices. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the success of our production team and the overall mission of advancing life around the world. In your role, you will be tasked with testing electrical systems to ensure continuity of circuits in wiring, equipment, and fixtures. You will also provide guidance and training to other team members regarding the installation, maintenance, or repair of electrical components. Your ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications, and schematics will be essential in troubleshooting and diagnosing system breakdowns, implementing necessary repairs and recommendations. You will check and replace fuses, motor starters, and relays, as well as install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices as required. Additionally, you will assist all departments in addressing machinery breakdowns, support equipment rebuilds, plant shutdowns, and new equipment installations, while maintaining a tidy and organized work area and keeping accurate maintenance records. This position requires a willingness to work overtime when needed and adherence to all safety requirements. You will also perform other duties as directed by management, contributing to a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Test electrical systems and ensure continuity of circuits in wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Provide guidance and training to other team members for the installation, maintenance, or repair of electrical components.
  • Interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications, and schematics to troubleshoot and diagnose system breakdowns, implementing necessary repairs and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Strong reading, writing, and mathematical competency.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Knowledge of AC & DC motors, drives, and controls.
  • Familiarity with 120/240/480v single and three-phase systems.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, including but not limited to amp clamps, voltmeters, wrenches, drills, presses, and torches.
  • Good understanding of state and local safety codes.
