About the position

The Maintenance II position at Veolia North America involves repairing, installing, adjusting, and maintaining industrial production and processing machinery and pipeline distribution systems. The role is essential for ensuring the operational efficiency of machinery and equipment, supporting environmental health and safety programs, and contributing to the overall management of the plant's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Record parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary.
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
  • LOTO Equipment for Maintenance Activity.
  • Permit Contractors.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 2 years' related experience working in a manufacturing maintenance department
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends as needed
  • Ability and willingness to wear a respirator as required
  • Ability and willingness to operate a fork truck and other industrial equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate Degree (two-year college or technical school)
  • Minimum of 4 years' related experience in a chemical Manufacturing Plant
  • Certified welder
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong computer and math skills
  • Team player, individual thinker.
