About the position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of mechanical principles and the ability to work with various tools and systems, ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The position involves responding to work orders, interpreting technical drawings, and adhering to safety regulations while performing maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Receive work orders that may include drawings, specifications, and instructions for repair, installation, and inspection work.
  • Read and interpret drawings including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Repair equipment/components without the use of drawings or specifications.
  • Plan and perform work requiring knowledge of mechanical principles and equipment operation.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and report any hazards that may compromise workplace safety.

Requirements

  • Experience in industrial automation or a degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or a related field.
  • Experience with electrical and electronic tools and gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, drill press, lathe, mill, electric drills, welding (Mig required, Tig and Stick preferred), pipe threading machine, acetylene torch, and soldering iron.
  • General manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to work closely with supervision and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to work overtime, every other weekend, and holidays if required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical tools and precision measuring equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with maintenance management software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems.
