About the position

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Southeast, Washington, DC. This position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Local 99. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for adjusting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as architectural and structural building components. This includes working on interior and entrance doors, floor systems, roof systems, and windows. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, particularly with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and related systems. In addition to repairs, the Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance functions, which encompass tasks such as changing filters, maintaining cooling towers, servicing heating and cooling coils, cleaning floor drains, and rigging chillers and plate heat exchangers. The position may also involve making repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, necessitating a good level of physical fitness and agility. The work environment is dynamic, requiring the ability to work both indoors and outdoors, often in dirty and greasy conditions. The role is essential for ensuring that facilities operate efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall mission of EMCOR Government Services to provide high-performance facilities for government clients.

Responsibilities

  • Adjusts and repairs HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in the Maintenance Field.
  • CFC certification required.
  • Ability to obtain HSPD-12 Clearance.
