About the position

Join our operations team where you will be influential in shaping our business strategy and ensuring we have the most effective operations. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment, machinery, and facilities under direct supervision. This entry-level position is crucial for ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be expected to maintain a variety of records, participate in special projects, and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to your assigned areas of responsibility. In this role, you will perform routine tasks and duties including scheduled preventative maintenance as assigned by a supervisor. You will inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery using a variety of tools. Knowledge of OSHA requirements as they pertain to daily activities is essential, and you will practice safety awareness in all actions, including machine operation and lock-out/tag-out procedures for all responsibilities. You will also be expected to share information with the supervisor and other team members in a manner that is understandable, demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills and a general knowledge of both hand tools and power tools. Additionally, you must be able to read and understand basic machine schematics with little guidance. Being highly organized with an emphasis on detail is crucial, as you will need to organize parts and materials in the proper locations. The physical demands of the job include lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, carrying, and manipulating large and small materials weighing up to 20lbs frequently and up to 50lbs unaccompanied. A positive team player approach is essential to support management objectives, and you should be willing to learn and work with other departments to ensure overall success.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery using a variety of tools.
  • Maintain a variety of records related to maintenance activities.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Practice safety awareness in all actions, including machine operation and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Share information with the supervisor and other team members in an understandable manner.
  • Organize parts and materials in the proper locations.
  • Lift, move, push, pull, carry, and manipulate materials weighing up to 20lbs frequently and up to 50lbs unaccompanied.
  • Follow directions well and display a willingness to learn.
  • Work with other departments to ensure overall success.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to use hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, presses, cordless drills, clamps, and other miscellaneous small tools safely and effectively.
  • Willingness to learn how to properly use a variety of measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy of 0.001” to diagnose wear or damage in machine parts.
  • Familiarity with related hand tools and troubleshooting equipment.
