About The Position

The position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to identify, develop, and onboard strategic low-cost country (LCC) suppliers, particularly in Mexico, to enhance competitive cost advantage and innovation for Amcor Rigid Packaging. The role focuses on driving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and optimizing the supplier footprint, while supporting the development and implementation of category strategies aligned with business priorities.

Requirements

  • Experience in procurement or supply chain management, particularly in capital equipment and tooling.
  • Strong understanding of cost breakdown analysis and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in supplier development and onboarding processes.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the packaging industry or related fields.
  • Knowledge of Plastic Injection molding and Blow Molding technologies.
  • Familiarity with supplier performance standards and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of capital equipment and tooling strategies in alignment with Business Group priorities.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies capitalize on supplier technology and drive innovation.
  • Document cost components related to platforms and services to identify savings and capital expenditure opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of cost-saving projects that meet Amcor's targets for spend and working capital reductions.
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers that meet Amcor's performance standards and compliance requirements.
  • Manage and implement supplier development and onboarding projects primarily in Mexico.
  • Coordinate project implementation activities with Category Managers and other central functions.
  • Anticipate supply and business continuity risks and develop mitigation plans with cross-functional teams.
  • Publish regular status reports on project status, risks, and issues to senior leadership.
  • Create and implement continuous improvement of specifications.
