About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the facility is safe and operational for patients, staff, and the public. This role includes responsibilities in painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, light HVAC, and preventative maintenance, all while adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of technical or trade school preferred.
  • Experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment with proper safety precautions.
  • Knowledge of Life Safety Code and OSHA preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Trained in CPI prior to being released from orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Follow applicable policies and procedures to reduce the risk of human injuries.
  • Perform tasks such as painting, carpentry, plastering, sanding, plumbing, electrical work, preventative maintenance, HVAC, and inspections of the physical plant.
  • Clean and change air filters as required through the Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Dispose of infectious/contaminated waste from the facility.
  • Maintain facility grounds in a neat and attractive appearance.
  • Operate and maintain emergency power plant.
  • Maintain all light fixtures in good working condition and change light bulbs as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance electrical tests and repair mechanical/electrical equipment under supervision.
  • Perform various janitorial duties.
  • Keep tools and materials in good condition and in their proper location.
  • Take necessary safety precautions when handling hand/power tools and equipment.
  • Ensure proper tag out and lock out procedures when working on equipment.
  • Comply with infection control measures, OSHA regulations, and Safety and Risk Management Plans.
  • Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventative environment.
  • Use time constructively and in an organized manner.
  • Inspect systems and components for compliance with state regulations and identify needed repairs.
  • Prepare documentation and materials reports as needed.
  • Repair various items, systems, or components to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Coordinate with personnel or vendors for maintenance decisions.
  • Transport items for ensuring availability of materials required to complete jobs.
  • Respond to emergency situations to resolve safety concerns and maintain operational facilities.
