About the position

The Maintenance Technician II at Tricon Residential plays a crucial role in ensuring that vacant properties are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe and attractive living environment for residents. This position involves a variety of tasks including cleanup, repair, and replacement of household items. The technician will be provided with a company van, which they will take home each night, emphasizing the importance of a good driving record. The role requires responding to service requests in a professional and timely manner, and effective communication with the Maintenance Coordinator to prioritize daily tasks. In addition to technical skills, the Maintenance Technician II must demonstrate exceptional customer service when interacting with residents and vendors. Responsibilities include installing new appliances, performing minor plumbing repairs, and conducting electrical work such as replacing light fixtures and outlets. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the work environment, capturing timesheets and work orders accurately, and utilizing technology to enhance productivity in maintenance service delivery. The position requires a commitment to serving residents in accordance with Tricon's Standards of Service, and the ability to work in challenging environmental and physical conditions. The technician must be capable of lifting objects weighing 50lbs or more regularly, ensuring that they can handle the physical demands of the job effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Communicate with Maintenance Coordinator to prioritize tasks throughout the day
  • Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with residents and vendors
  • Install new appliances
  • Clean/replace faucets, sinks, drains, toilets, water heaters, disposals and sump pumps to include minor plumbing repairs
  • Caulk and grout, as needed
  • Test for current, replace receptacles and GFCI's
  • Replace light fixtures, ceiling fans switches, outlets and perform other minor electrical work
  • Repair/install strikers, latches, hinges, door knobs, locksets and lockboxes
  • Repair/replace/rescreen window screens
  • Install pre-hung doors and repair/install windows, panes and blinds
  • Replace baseboards, door casings and moldings
  • Install/repair cabinet doors, hinges and fixtures
  • Clear condensate lines and pans
  • Clean dust, plants and debris around condensing unit to include replacing air filter and thermostat
  • Spray for bugs/Indoor foggers
  • Patch holes touch up and paint properties
  • Consistently maintain a clean work environment
  • Capture timesheets and work orders correctly
  • Accurately utilize technology (inventory tracking system, company vehicles, etc.) to drive productivity and continuous improvement for maintenance service delivery

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years maintenance/construction background
  • Skilled in installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of household appliances, plumbing, electrical and miscellaneous household items
  • Experience leveraging technology (iPad, iPhones, etc.)
  • Ability to work overtime hours, as needed
  • Ability to correspond (in writing and verbally) effectively with team members and vendors
  • Work safely, wearing PPE's
  • Commitment to serving residents in accordance to TAHs Standards of Service
  • Must be able to work in environmentally and physically challenging working conditions
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing 50lbs or more regularly
