The Maintenance Technician II at Hyatt Vacation Club at Pinon Pointe is responsible for responding to and attending to guest repair requests with minimal supervision. This role requires effective communication with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues promptly. The technician will perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, which includes cleaning and lubrication, and will visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to ensure they are functioning correctly. The position involves carrying equipment such as tools and radios, identifying and operating all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings, and maintaining an inventory of maintenance supplies while requisitioning parts as needed. The technician must demonstrate proficiency in one of the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management. Additionally, the technician should possess solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools necessary for repair and maintenance tasks. Basic abilities to repair or replace PVC and copper pipes, including soldering, are also required. Troubleshooting and performing basic repairs on various types of equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems are key responsibilities. This includes tasks such as plunging toilets, unclogging drains, replacing electrical switches and outlets, and programming TVs. The technician will also assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, and the thorough cleanup of work areas. The use of the Lockout/Tagout system is mandatory before performing any maintenance work. The technician should have a working knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance and energy management systems. In addition to technical skills, the Maintenance Technician II is expected to follow all company and safety policies, report maintenance problems and safety hazards, and maintain a clean and professional appearance. The role requires the ability to develop positive working relationships with team members and to communicate effectively with guests, ensuring their service needs are met. The technician must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as moving up and down stairs and using ladders. A flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required to meet the needs of the position.
