About the position

The Maintenance Technician III at Tricon Residential plays a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional and consistent customer service experience for residents. This position is responsible for completing all maintenance requests and work orders for occupied homes within a designated geographic area. The technician will engage in various tasks that require technical skills and a commitment to quality service. The role involves clear and compassionate communication with team members, residents, and vendors, ensuring that all interactions reflect the company's values of respect and empathy. The technician will work closely with the Assistant Maintenance Manager - Tech (AMM-T) and/or Centralized Maintenance Coordinator (CMC) to prioritize daily tasks and respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner. In addition to customer service, the Maintenance Technician III will be responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks, including the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, and general property upkeep. This includes diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and educating residents on maintenance practices to prevent future problems. The technician will also be expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment, accurately document work performed, and utilize technology effectively to enhance productivity and service quality. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a dedication to continuous improvement in maintenance services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions with residents, team members, and vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with the Assistant Maintenance Manager - Tech (AMM-T) and/or Centralized Maintenance Coordinator (CMC) to prioritize tasks.
  • Respond to and complete service requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Repair HVAC systems, including diagnosis, cleaning, maintenance, and component replacement.
  • Handle refrigerant management, including checking and charging refrigerant levels and repairing leaks.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, sinks, toilets, and garbage disposals.
  • Conduct minor electrical repairs, including outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
  • Repair or replace doors, windows, cabinetry, and other hardware as needed.
  • Accurately fill out time sheets and enter data into work orders correctly.
  • Utilize technology effectively to drive productivity and service improvement.

Requirements

  • EPA 608 Certification for Refrigerant Management (Type II or Universal Certification required).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of maintenance/construction experience.
  • Ability to work on-call and overtime hours as needed.
  • Skilled in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Experience in leveraging technology such as laptops and tablets for work purposes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, residents, and vendors.
  • Physical capability to lift objects weighing 50lbs or more regularly.
