About the position

The Maintenance Technician IV position at New Balance involves performing electrical maintenance on buildings and equipment under the supervision of the Facilities Manager. The role includes planning and designing electrical work for construction projects, repairing manufacturing machinery, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes. This full-time position is based in Salt Lake City and requires a proactive approach to maintenance and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical preventive maintenance on systems up to 480 volts.
  • Travel to other New Balance locations for repairs or installations as needed.
  • Review work requests for feasibility and propose design changes.
  • Determine material requirements, obtain costs from vendors, and provide labor time estimates.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical/mechanical systems to applicable codes.
  • Fill out and submit electrical permit applications for general wiring and projects.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Oversee the workmanship of outside contractors.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and mechanical work as needed.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
  • Respond to on-call duties in case of emergencies.
  • Operate computerized Energy Management System.

Requirements

  • Master electrician license with 3 years of electrical work experience or Journeyman Electrician with 5-8 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiencies in Plant Maintenance.
  • Mechanical skills in carpentry, masonry, and plumbing.
  • Physical ability to lift moderate to heavy weight and climb ladders.
  • Ability to move throughout the facility.
