About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing technical support and resources to manufacturing and engineering processes and equipment. This role ensures that equipment and processes are maintained at the highest levels of safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity. The Technician will install and repair systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots automated equipment failures to determine necessary upgrades and/or repairs
  • Read and understand equipment manuals and electrical schematics
  • Documentation of the activities carried out and the results of work
  • Work with Controls/Manufacturing Engineers to develop equipment and controls for new products as well as improving existing equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance as assigned which includes but is not limited to repair, diagnose, clean, lubricate, upgrade manufacturing equipment
  • Provide support to troubleshoot and recover any problem with robots on the production line
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Successfully completed vocational training in electrical engineering/mechatronics or comparable training preferred
  • At least three years of related experience preferred
  • Professional experience in maintenance and with automated systems, focusing on assembly technology
  • Working knowledge of tools, and devices such as torque guns, volts meters etc.
  • Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., PLC, sensors, fuses, contacts, relays) and with the ability to read and use mechanical and electrical schematics for repairs and troubleshooting
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic system components
  • Experience with basic handling of robots from pendant (KUKA preferably)
  • Experience troubleshooting controls circuitry (AC/DC power supplies, relays, motors / servos) is required
  • PLC experience is a plus
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call availability
  • Ability to use hand and power tool
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
  • High level of commitment as well as a responsible, independent, and team-oriented way of working
  • Familiar with Lock Out Tag Out
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
