About the position

The 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on manufacturing equipment, ensuring a safe work environment, and assisting in various engineering and process improvement projects. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, effective communication with supervisors, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform needed repairs on equipment as assigned by Manufacturing Engineering Manager
  • Maintain safe work environment while performing maintenance tasks
  • Notify Supervisor and/or production group leader upon completion of tasks
  • Perform all assigned tasks and work orders with minimal supervision in a timely manner
  • Complete all maintenance logs, work orders, and other documentation in a concise and legible manner
  • Assist engineering in prototype projects, process improvement projects, and engineering changes
  • Participate in daily housekeeping and other cleaning and organizing events as required to maintain a clean work environment
  • Advise Supervisor of low inventory levels of supplies and components
  • Assist all departments with mechanical and electrical needs
  • Participate in Kaizen events and lean manufacturing training and implementation
  • Work with blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies, jigs, and molds
  • Apply knowledge of tool & die design construction, shop mathematics, metal properties, and layout, machining, and assembly when needed
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using measuring instruments like dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, and micrometers
  • Setup and operate machine tools, like lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to machine parts.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of most of the manufacturing equipment in the plant
  • Competent at diagnosing problems with equipment and recommending appropriate repairs
  • Ability to learn and use MVP maintenance software program
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and follow the company code of conduct policy
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Safety conscious behavior, knowledge of Lockout/Tagout Procedures
  • Knowledge up to 3 Phase 480 Volt electrical
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley)
  • Allen Bradley A/C Drive experience
  • Robot knowledge/Programming
