Responsibilities

  • Utilize equipment to obtain diagnostic images for mammography and DEXA studies as per physician orders.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology Department.
  • Manage patient information using designated RIS and PACS systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on training and experience.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required for both Mammography Tech I and II.
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required for both levels.
  • Mammo Tech I: 40 hours of mammography training approved by the ARRT and 25 supervised exams.
  • Mammo Tech II: 40 hours of mammography training approved by the ARRT and 2 years of experience in mammography or 1 year of KSC experience in X-ray and/or SCNB.
  • ARRT (R) MRT-General Certificate required for Mammography Tech I; must attain ARRT(M) within one year of eligibility.
  • ARRT (R)(M) MRT-General Certificate required for Mammography Tech II.
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association required for both levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates in Applied Science-Radiology Technology preferred for both levels.
  • Minimum 1 year Mammography and DEXA experience preferred for Mammography Tech I.
  • Mammography and SCNB experience preferred for Mammography Tech II.
  • PACS and RIS experience preferred for Mammography Tech I.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
