About The Position

The Manager of Application Development position at Kinder Morgan is a leadership role within the Business Systems application team, responsible for overseeing the development and support of custom solutions for the company's extensive pipeline and terminal operations. The successful candidate will manage a team, ensure compliance with policies, and engage in project management activities while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage resources and respond to user requests in a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or IT.
  • Over five years of experience leading resources in software development or business management efforts.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in analyzing performance metrics, risks, and controls.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Inventory systems, Contract Management, Accounting, and general Invoicing.
  • Knowledge of business planning and forecasting and Financial Management.
  • Experience with Project management.
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas Operations including Reservoir Engineering, Production Operations, Drilling, Geoscience, and Facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the support of third-party applications and custom application development.
  • Manage project schedules, capital AFEs, and a staff of up to 10 to 12 individuals.
  • Participate in project meetings, provide input to project plans, and status updates.
  • Maintain documentation, troubleshoot issues, code, test, and provide on-call support.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) policies and procedures.
  • Consult with business and IT management to prioritize projects for business and technical needs.
  • Develop employee skills, evaluate performance, and oversee resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Work with IT management to analyze operation and efficiency of the IT group and recommend process improvements.
