As a Manager & Associate Actuary in our Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) business, you will play a pivotal role in our pricing team, contributing to the growth and long-term success of the company. This position offers the flexibility of being fully remote, hybrid, or on-site, depending on your location. In this role, you will lead a team of actuarial students and pricing analysts, guiding them through the transaction process and supporting the development of pricing and product solutions tailored for pension risk transfer. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate reviews of defined benefit plan documents, collaborating with Product and Sales teams to create strategic bidding strategies, and managing PRT pricing schedules to optimize workflows. You will also be responsible for recommending pricing assumptions, presenting pricing results to key stakeholders, and monitoring profitability and business performance to inform future pricing strategies. As a leader, you will mentor and train your team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the PRT process. You will document projects according to established guidelines and ensure compliance with actuarial standards and regulations. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of actuarial students and pricing analysts in the transaction process.
  • Support the development of pricing and product solutions for pension risk transfer.
  • Ensure accurate review and interpretation of defined benefit plan documents and summaries.
  • Collaborate with Product and Sales teams to develop strategic bidding strategies.
  • Manage PRT pricing schedules to optimize workflows and capacity.
  • Recommend assumptions for PRT pricing by collaborating with the assumptions team.
  • Present and defend pricing results to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor profitability and business performance to create feedback loops for future pricing.
  • Perform pricing and sensitivity analysis for PRT cases.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Lead inforce management activities for PRT.
  • Design and enhance a sustainable target operating model for pricing transaction processes.
  • Identify business needs and bridge knowledge gaps through upskilling strategies.
  • Train, review work of, and mentor pricers throughout the PRT process.
  • Document projects in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Provide overall support and communication to leaders regarding PRT market opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience in the Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) market.
  • Strong technical background in actuarial science or related fields.
  • Experience leading a transaction team.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams including Pricing, Product Development, and Risk Management.
  • Proficiency in actuarial pricing models and sensitivity analysis.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting to senior management.
