About the position

The Manager, Benefits and Compensation at Wright-Patt Credit Union is responsible for overseeing, negotiating, and implementing employee benefits plans, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing compensation structures. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance benefits offerings and ensure employee satisfaction while maintaining cost-effectiveness. The manager will also handle escalated inquiries and oversee the HR benefits team, ensuring quality vendor performance and effective communication regarding benefits options.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, negotiate, and implement benefits plans with vendors and the HR benefits team.
  • Handle escalated benefit inquiries to ensure quick and courteous resolution.
  • Administer and oversee current benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Human Resources and broker to develop new benefits programs and policies.
  • Conduct studies on compensation programs and participate in salary surveys and pay equity projects.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to benefits and compensation.
  • Coordinate with HR Business Controls Analyst to address functional gaps in controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field or five years equivalent experience in a benefits-focused HR role.
  • 5 years of HR experience with a focus on benefits program administration and compensation plan development.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, PPACA, and COBRA regulations.
  • Ability to understand accounting and finance concepts.
  • Experience with human resources information systems and processes.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and research skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with a financial institution of sufficient size to warrant increased compensation and process regulatory scrutiny.
