About the position

The Senior Manager of Benefits and Compensation at American Credit Acceptance is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's compensation and benefits programs. This role is crucial in ensuring that the compensation and benefits packages are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. The position involves collaboration with various departments and external vendors to enhance employee satisfaction and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead new job architecture project
  • Develop and implement competitive compensation strategies that attract and retain top talent
  • Conduct regular market analysis to ensure our compensation packages remain competitive
  • Design and manage incentive programs, bonus structures, and other compensation-related initiatives
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and wellness programs
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to the benefits offerings to ensure they meet the needs of our diverse workforce
  • Partner with benefits providers to negotiate contracts and ensure cost-effective solutions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits
  • Prepare and submit required reports, filings, and disclosures related to compensation and benefits
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes affecting compensation and benefits
  • Communicate compensation and benefits information to employees effectively through various channels
  • Conduct educational sessions and workshops to help employees understand their compensation and benefits packages
  • Respond to employee inquiries and resolve issues related to compensation and benefits in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with ACA Senior Leadership, finance, and other departments to align compensation and benefits strategy with business goals
  • Build strong relationships with external vendors, consultants, and industry peers to stay informed and leverage best practices
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional HR projects and initiatives as needed
  • Perform needs analyses and review organization resources to ensure that resources exist or are developed to support ACA's needs that support the near- and long-term goals of the organization
  • Support other programs as deemed necessary through the needs analysis process
  • Partner with ACA's Payroll function
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in benefits, compensation and HRIS management
  • 3+ years of experience in people leadership
  • Proven ability to effectively manage compensation and benefit programs
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field preferred
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and other Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated knowledge through direct, on-the-job experience of adult learning concepts, instructional design techniques, and evaluation methodologies
  • Experience working in organizational development for a large operation or business unit, in a high-growth or start-up environment highly desired
  • High level of experience in working with HR systems
