About the position

The Walmart Accounting Leadership Development Program (ALDP) is a competitive, two-year leadership program designed for public accounting professionals who aspire to work on diverse, impactful projects with the Fortune 1 Company. We are looking for candidates to help us live our ideals of being a people-led, tech-powered, omnichannel retailer, dedicated to helping people save money and live better. This program targets exceptional talent with leadership potential, offering a rigorous two-year rotational experience that will propel your career forward. Over two years, you will rotate through four distinct areas in Controllership and Audit, each lasting six months. You will engage in challenging, innovative projects that drive our business forward and create value for our customers, while supporting multiple operating segments (Walmart U.S., Sam's Club, International and Corporate). As you engage with your work, you will partner with key functional areas of the company, including Strategy, Operations, Merchandising, Treasury, Global Controller's Office, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Real Estate.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through four distinct areas in Controllership and Audit, each lasting six months.
  • Engage in challenging, innovative projects that drive business forward.
  • Support multiple operating segments including Walmart U.S., Sam's Club, International, and Corporate.
  • Partner with key functional areas of the company such as Strategy, Operations, and Marketing.
  • Develop leadership skills, receive professional mentorship, and technical training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Public Accounting.
  • CPA or CPA eligible.
  • Ability to excel at both high-level strategic thinking and detailed execution.
  • Motivated self-starter with intellectual curiosity and the ability to navigate through ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in information technology, financial analysis, or relevant area.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Master's in Business Administration.
  • Certified Public Accountant certification.
