About the position

The Manager of Customer Reporting and Analytics in Sales Operations at Staples is responsible for automating and maintaining customer reports to enhance the customer experience. This role involves collaborating with sales teams and other stakeholders to gather requirements, deliver robust reporting, and promote the adoption of standard reporting processes. The position also requires analyzing processes for improvements and establishing partnerships with business sponsors and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, automate, and maintain customer reports and processes for reporting services.
  • Deliver robust customer reporting to the business as a key member of the analytics team.
  • Gather customer requirements and transform data into reports in collaboration with sales teams and functional leads.
  • Train and support business users on data and reports, promoting the importance of standard reporting processes.
  • Work with Business Intelligence and data teams to source, develop, and document data definitions and quality requirements.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with business sponsors, vendors, and key stakeholders to coordinate reporting needs.
  • Analyze processes and suggest improvements to better support customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience with report/dashboard development, data/report automation, self-service capabilities, data design and integration, data quality and governance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft BI (Power Query, DAX), SSDT, and SSAS.
  • Experience in SQL and statistical packages including Python and R.
  • Strong writing, communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and create backend systems, analysis, automation, and visualization to support them.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Business Intelligence reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or similar discipline.
