About the position

The Manager of Data Center Operations will lead and manage teams responsible for the availability of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure in data centers located in the US Ashburn region. This role involves overseeing the physical sites, managing operational teams, and coordinating with colocation partners. The position requires a strong background in IT service delivery, effective people management, and the ability to navigate local customs and laws. The manager will ensure the quality of service delivery, drive improvements, and support project managers in achieving project milestones in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of all Data Center sites in a 24/7 environment.
• Ensure timely delivery of services and tasks to meet project milestones.
• Provide guidance and support to project managers.
• Uphold quality benchmarks for new sites and deployments.
• Drive the delivery of improvements and provide feedback in project reviews.
• Interact across functional areas and teams, including Engineering and Business Operations.
• Manage incidents and drive resolution and After-Action analysis.
• Oversee capacity expansions and recruitment in the area.
• Foster a culture of continual improvement and learning.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing diverse teams in a technical environment.
• Strong technical grounding in IT service delivery.
• Ability to navigate local customs, laws, and employment directives.
• Experience in project management and operational excellence.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
