About the position

The Manager of Special Events or Manager of Marketing has the responsibility to create and implement programs and policies that assist with the growth and maintenance of the Special Events program while ensuring business best practices are aligned with Sales Operations goals. A critical focus of this position is expense management and ensuring proformas and forecasting are aligned with goals to increase program efficiencies. Reinforcing the goals and tactics with field partners while following the existing scalable and sustainable roadmap to drive efficiencies, will be essential. Partnering with field personnel to identify opportunities within the program's operation and developing solutions to take advantage of these opportunities will be the day to day objectives for the individual in this role. He/she will also oversee the implementation of these solutions/tactics. Coordination with other Corporate personnel will also be required to assist in the implementation of the developed tasks. In addition, the Manager of Special Events will be responsible for some of the coordination and planning of special events.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement programs and policies for the Special Events program.
  • Manage expense management and ensure proformas and forecasting align with goals.
  • Reinforce goals and tactics with field partners.
  • Identify opportunities within the program's operation and develop solutions.
  • Oversee the implementation of solutions and tactics.
  • Coordinate with Corporate personnel for task implementation.
  • Research vendors and manage final selection.
  • Assist with obtaining contracts and signatures from vendors.
  • Provide merchandising support.
  • Prepare all event invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Involve in pre and post event communications.
  • Travel to event locations as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in broad-based relationship management or account executive role.
  • Marketing manager experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Understanding of sales and marketing practices in vacation ownership preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills, team contributor, and detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Computer skills including Outlook and MS Office suite.
