About the position

The Manager, Federal Program Management II is responsible for overseeing the successful management of federal contracts, ensuring deliverable completion, and supervising the Magellan Federal team. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including Magellan Health teams and external partners, to meet project goals and objectives. The manager will utilize project management methodologies to create and execute work plans, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and participate in strategic growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage daily operations on one or more federal contracts/task orders.
• Supervise direct employees and collaborate with Magellan Health teams, Prime and Subcontractors.
• Utilize project management methodologies to create and execute project work plans.
• Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver project reviews and quality assurance procedures.
• Communicate effectively with direct reports and key stakeholders for operational support.
• Facilitate changes to operational delivery and improve competitive position.
• Prepare business cases and return on investment reports for assigned contracts.
• Participate in strategy and growth activities, including developing solutions and proposals.

Requirements

• 3+ years of federal contract project management experience or related experience in a medium to large-scale corporation.
• Extensive understanding of Military culture and protocols, with Military experience or significant experience in a Military service environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Product Suite.
• Knowledge of project management practices and process improvement methodologies.
• Facilitation and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
