About the position

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is a 595-bed comprehensive healthcare facility known for providing a wide range of medical services and specialized care to the Homewood community and beyond. Our dedicated team of physicians, nurses, clinicians and medical professionals are committed to delivering quality and compassionate care. Accredited by The Joint Commission, Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is recognized for excellence in stroke care, cardiovascular services, rehabilitation, bariatrics, surgical care including minimally invasive procedures and is one of the largest providers of psychiatry care in the state. We have earned Primary Stroke Center certification from The Joint Commission and Get With the Guidelines Gold Plus Achievement in Stroke from the American Heart Association. Our bariatric program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) as a Comprehensive Center. The campus also includes the Women's Medical Center, providing full-service care for women at all stages of life, including gynecologic surgery, maternity, and a labor and delivery unit with a Level III NICU. The center holds Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from The Joint Commission.

Responsibilities

  • Manage functional team in the creation, execution and refinement of financial analyses, business processes, accounting, reporting, reimbursement and other finance and accounting related activities.
  • Support business planning processes, the development of annual operating and capital budgets, accounting related business processes, financial reporting, decision support and cost accounting.
  • Provide internal and external customers with accurate and timely data to support strategic decision making and compliance.
  • Manage a small group of team members in a functional area.
  • Achieve team critical success factors, including anticipating and meeting customer requirements, accuracy and high quality of work product and achievement of cost effective results.
  • Continuously improve internal processes and seek and implement innovative ways to improve quality and reduce cost.
  • Develop team members into a highly effective and flexible team.
  • Provide accurate internal and external financial accounting and reporting.
  • Establish policies and procedures, standards and objectives in coordination with the vision and goals of Orlando Health.
  • Manage fiscal management of all operating budgets in assigned areas, while monitoring and promoting cost-effectiveness for the organization.
  • Manage various human resource functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans and performance counseling.
  • Oversee the development and preparation of financial and statistical reports to support leadership in business development, strategic planning and financial performance review.
  • Develop and maintain reporting to evaluate financial performance compared to key performance indicators.
  • Oversee the development and preparation of predictive models to assist management with the evaluation of changing regulatory and market forces.
  • Collect, analyze and present financial information to assist leadership in identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization, community and within the field of healthcare.
  • Oversee financial modeling, analysis and valuation of new service lines and businesses.
  • Oversee identifying, developing and maintaining accounting journal entries in the assigned area.
  • Manage the work of assigned accounting and financial analyst staff to assure accurate and timely accounting and reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual cost reports, AHCA, and other regulatory filings.
  • Oversee and coordinate information gathering for the cost report audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience related to financial analysis and planning, public accounting or consulting.
  • Computer experience required with an emphasis on finance related IT systems (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, General and Fund Accounting, Budget, Purchasing card, Cost Accounting, etc.), spreadsheet and/or database programs.
