About the position

The primary purpose of the Finance Manager, Radiation Oncology is to lead the finance team to support the clinical departments and sections in Radiation Oncology. The main responsibilities include overseeing faculty and other provider and staff expense budget management and reconciliation, funds setup and monitoring, analysis and reporting to key stakeholders, procurement, training and oversight of supporting staff, and overall support of the clinical departments and division in maintaining compliance with institutional, state, and other policies and procedures. In coordination with the division administrator, Chairs, department administrators, and others as needed, the Finance Manager will develop, implement, and track key performance metrics, timely reports, and mitigation strategies to help monitor and ensure appropriate financial stewardship and health of the departments, division, and organization. The successful Finance Manager will possess the drive, emotional intelligence, and technical knowledge and competencies to collaborate effectively and cordially across institutional, divisional, and departmental teams and within matrixed reporting structures.

Responsibilities

  • Steward, analyze, summarize, and forecast financial data and key metrics.
  • Provide guidance to Chairs and faculty regarding financial operations.
  • Facilitate the Department's annual budget process.
  • Provide guidance on expenditure of funds and interpretation of policies.
  • Submit, monitor, and ensure compliance of Electronic Personnel Action Form (ePAF) actions.
  • Serve as a partner and backup to the division finance team.
  • Provide input and assistance to department-level teams on financial and clinical reporting applications.
  • Partner and support departments in the setup and monitoring of startup funds and other financial resources.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate accounting and financial workflows and procedures.
  • Establish, manage, and facilitate a system for document retention of financial data.
  • Oversee, organize, and maintain documentation relating to fiscal and budgetary responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with research teams to manage asset inventory.
  • Serve as a delegate and resource to the division administrator.
  • Manage procurement services for the RO clinical departments.
  • Participate on committees and working groups as needed.
  • Perform other relevant duties and assist with ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Five years of professional experience in finance, accounting or related field.
  • At least three years of supervisory or project management experience.
  • Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with OBIEE, Peoplesoft, EPIC, and others.
  • Knowledge of Radiation Oncology specific software applications.
  • Solid background in clinical finance and clinical research finance, particularly with Oncore.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and others for data analysis and reporting.
