About the position

The Manager of Financial Analysis & Reporting at King & Spalding is responsible for developing and implementing financial models that support the firm's business goals. This role involves analyzing key performance metrics, providing insights to senior management, and collaborating with various finance functions to enhance reporting tools and processes. The position requires strong leadership skills and a focus on fostering a high-performance culture within the Financial Analysis team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, interpret, and implement timekeeper and client-focused financial models.
  • Identify and analyze key performance measures and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Communicate financial metrics and insights to partners and senior management.
  • Collaborate with Pricing, Billing, and Rate Management on reporting needs.
  • Provide analysis and reporting at various levels including client/matter and practice group.
  • Support Business Operations teams with financial analysis and insights.
  • Partner with team leaders to understand objectives and provide proactive support.
  • Work with Financial Systems and IT on reporting tool enhancements.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators for clients and practices.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Financial Analysis team.
  • Develop presentations to communicate financial performance to senior leadership.
  • Train team members on building models and interpreting data.
  • Establish guidelines to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to synthesize metrics into practical insights.
  • High proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, PowerBI, and legal financial systems is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing and developing others.
  • Familiarity with legal financial systems such as Aderant or Elite.
