These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Asset Trading team in developing and driving long term strategies for United's airframe, engines, and component sales.
  • Coordinate asset transfer from United to 3rd parties and facilitate asset records required for sales.
  • Ensure enforcement of contracted terms across direct to market sales, exchanges, and consignments.
  • Lead and support aircraft, engine, and component contract negotiations.
  • Execute the marketing plan for all assets identified as surplus to United's operational needs.
  • Develop a direct to market part sales program.
  • Improve the value of all assets through third party sales, asset exchanges, and consignments.
  • Work with Aircraft Records team to assemble and generate records required to complete transactions.
  • Support negotiations and the execution of all required transaction documentation.
  • Support asset valuations and appraisals used on all proposed transactions across all asset types.
  • Partner with key internal collaborators to effectively complete transactions.
  • Facilitate opportunities to complete component repairs to improve the value of asset sales.
  • Implement the process flow of returned parts to the operation to ensure continued use.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with lessors, MROs, brokers, and appraisers throughout the industry.
  • Complete site audits to ensure consignment contract compliance and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years relevant work experience
  • Ability to financially model and support asset purchase/sale transaction recommendations
  • Ability to work with cross-functional employee groups to identify creative approaches to achieve company profitability objectives
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build data visualizations to support decision making by business leaders
  • Ability to influence others
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to interpret and present results in concise logical manner
  • Extensive transaction experience in aircraft and engine trading, leasing, and component asset management
  • Proficient in the negotiation and contracting purchase and sale agreements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Excellent MS Excel and MS Access skills, ability to produce sophisticated analysis on large data sets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and knowledge of accounting and financial statements
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7+ years of airline experience specializing in aircraft/engine asset transfers, aircraft evaluation, fleet planning or contract management and/or deal management leadership experience
  • Experience with engine and airframe component sales and consignment management
  • Extensive network of both internal contacts and airline industry contacts with U.S. majors, lessors, MROs, & component brokers
  • Extensive knowledge of United network
  • Extensive knowledge of United fleet
