About the position

The Manager of Analytics and Business Intelligence at El Camino Health is responsible for leading the development of reporting, data warehousing, and analytics solutions across various application systems. This role involves overseeing a team of report writers, analysts, and business intelligence engineers to create clinical, operational, and financial data solutions. The manager will drive innovation in analytics, implement data governance strategies, and present analytical insights to leaders at all levels within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of reporting, data warehousing, and analytics solutions for Epic, Workday, ServiceNow, and other application systems.
• Oversee a team of report writers, analysts, and business intelligence engineers in developing data solutions.
• Drive innovation in analytics through effective resource management.
• Implement strategies for data governance, data visualization, security, and analytical solutions.
• Manage relationships with software and hardware vendors to understand the impact of vendor strategies.
• Ensure proper training and documentation for enterprise-wide technical architecture and systems use.
• Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient team operation.
• Manage key organization initiatives around data use, analytics, extracts, regulatory reporting, and warehousing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4 years related work experience or Master's degree in related field with 2 years related work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience directly managing a team of report developers, business intelligence engineers, and/or data scientists.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse, visualization tools, and analytics platforms in a hospital setting.
• Experience with Epic Cogito, SQL, and Tableau.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Visio, flow diagrams, Smartsheets, ServiceNow, and SharePoint is preferred.
• Certification in one or more Epic modules preferred.
