About the position

The Manager of Live Production Operations Services at Jennie-O Corporate Office is responsible for optimizing energy supply and managing shavings purchases across the Live Production enterprise. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, managing multiple projects, and ensuring adherence to quality standards while developing long-range strategies. The position requires strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop programs optimizing energy supply across the Live Production enterprise.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in providing low-cost natural gas, propane, and electrical backup systems.
  • Manage multiple projects, programs, and initiatives and execute on the projects.
  • Understand internal energy requirements and establish strategic partnerships to meet those needs.
  • Responsible for all shavings purchases company-wide and develop programs to ensure proper planning for anticipated production volumes.
  • Monitor and maintain shavings quality standards and procure alternative products as allowed.
  • Coordinate the sale and disposition of litter and mortality for all Live Production.
  • Develop and implement both long- and short-range strategies for a consistent maintenance program.
  • Negotiate land rental agreements for non-turkey producing land.
  • Provide project management including planning PM's / Work Orders timing and implementation of EAM system.
  • Order necessary materials and prepare estimates while securing multiple bids.
  • Learn and understand the Hormel Production System and monitor adherence to applicable management operating systems.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A track record of successful experience in operations and live production, engineering, quality control, supply chain or related field.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to lead by influence.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and hold others accountable.
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence, advise and manage across cross-functional players.
  • Able to drive and travel to visit locations in Live Production with possible overnight stay.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Windows applications such as Excel, Teams, PowerPoint.
