About the position

The Manager of Network Engineering Access is responsible for overseeing the Access Engineering team across multiple regions, ensuring compliance with technical standards and promoting a customer-driven service culture. This role involves collaboration with cross-divisional peers to develop standards and processes, as well as acting as a subject matter expert to guide team members. The position requires proactive identification of process improvements and the management of engineering operations to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Access Engineering team across various regions.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional peers to develop and implement standards and processes for Access Engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and company technical requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote a customer-driven service culture within the team.
  • Identify and address processes impacting engineering proactively.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to team members as needed.
  • Analyze complex business needs through interaction with senior leadership and external customers.
  • Forecast staffing requirements and prepare systems engineering plans and budgets for new projects.
  • Create systems engineering standards, tools, and processes by reviewing documentation and participating in SE organizations.
  • Lead user conferences to plan future projects and procedures.
  • Evaluate new technologies for applicability and impact on operational goals.
  • Analyze system performance against customer requirements and direct corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in network engineering or a related area.
  • Proven management experience in a technical environment.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills to meet production operations requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in significant matters.

  • Experience in the cable industry and familiarity with upcoming projects.
  • Technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work variable schedules, including nights and weekends.
