The Physical Security Operations Manager is a member of the Mayo Clinic Enterprise Physical Security Risk Management team. The manager provides security management and security consulting services to campus functions and entities. The incumbent manages all aspects of site physical security staff and conducts security surveys, threat and risk assessments, investigations, evaluations of security equipment and technology, and special projects or assignments as directed and in collaboration with the enterprise security operations team and operational risk management team. Coordinates an appropriate security response in emergency situations. Implements tools to collect and report information in an accurate and timely manner regarding daily security activity and incidents. Promotes on-going development of all staff and responsible for maintaining a professional environment in which staff can grow and develop. Responsibilities also include coordinating and/or conducting training for the physical security personnel, as well as security and loss prevention awareness education for employees, and researching, reviewing, and/or revising security-related policies, procedures, and standards, and other duties as assigned. The incumbent must possess interpersonal skills to interact effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization, including the ability to deal effectively with ambiguous situations and the varying political/cultural environments within the institution. The incumbent must possess the ability to work collaboratively across the Enterprise and balance the requirements and/or priorities of site-based responsibilities against Enterprise initiatives to inspire/foster change.
