About the position

As the Manager of Software Engineering at R1 RCM, you will lead the development and maintenance of SaaS healthcare applications, ensuring high-quality software delivery. This role involves collaborating with product management, mentoring engineers, and driving projects to completion in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software solutions with an engineering mindset.
  • Collaborate with product management to assess and plan releases and roadmaps.
  • Mentor and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance and support.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality enterprise software on schedule.
  • Drive difficult projects through to completion.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment, giving and receiving feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience delivering web-based applications and services.
  • Understanding of object-oriented principles in languages such as C#, C++, and Java.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Expertise in high-level programming languages.
  • Experience with message or data streaming-based application development using technologies like JMS, Azure Messaging Services, Apache Kafka, or Amazon MQ.
  • Knowledge of web services standards and related technologies (XML, XSD, SOAP, JSON, REST).
  • Experience with relational and non-relational database technologies (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, HBase) and concepts like ACID and CAP theorem.
  • Understanding of modern software development methodologies including version control, unit testing, and continuous integration & deployment.

  • Knowledge and experience with automated test tools and techniques.
  • Some experience utilizing project management skills and best practices.
