About the position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center is set to open in early 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in over 20 years. This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, including The George Washington University Hospital and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, establishing a robust system of care for all District residents. The facility will feature 136 beds (expandable to 184), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery services, an ambulatory pavilion, a community space, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transports. We are seeking an experienced Perioperative Nurse Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Pre-Admission Testing, Same Day Surgery, PACU, and Pre-Op areas, ensuring total patient care for inpatient surgical patients. The manager will assist in developing and implementing performance initiatives, ensuring optimal patient safety outcomes and customer satisfaction, while managing daily work activities and ensuring quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of Pre-Admission Testing, Same Day Surgery, PACU, and Pre-Op areas.
  • Provide total patient care for inpatient surgical patients.
  • Develop and implement performance initiatives.
  • Ensure optimal patient safety outcomes.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage daily work activities.
  • Ensure quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Assist in accomplishing strategic and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • DC RN license
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing
  • BLS certification
  • Certification in area of specialty preferred

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a managerial role within a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with hospital operations and patient care standards
