About the position
The Manager, Urban Future Labs Programs will lead the development of an innovation program focused on implementing pilot projects aimed at achieving critical renewable energy targets and designing new business models. This role involves collaboration with team members on incubator management, including the recruitment of startup applicants, deal analysis, and support for portfolio companies. The position is grant-funded for a fixed term of one year.
Responsibilities
- Develop an innovation program to implement pilot projects for renewable energy targets.
- Design new business models related to renewable energy.
- Provide recommendations on potential pilot partners.
- Share responsibilities with team members on incubator management.
- Recruit startup applicants for the Urban Future Lab programs.
- Conduct deal analysis and evaluation for potential projects.
- Support portfolio companies in their development and execution of programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related area.
- 5+ years of experience in higher education, project management, supervision, or a combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Mission-driven to reduce carbon emissions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of experience in project/program management, consulting, venture capital, or work experience at a startup, government agency, or energy/utility company.
- Experience related to the New York State Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) policy framework.
- Experience evaluating applications to incubator or accelerator programs.
- Experience teaching, coaching, or speaking at conferences or panel discussions.
- Interest in playing a leadership role.
- Informed and experienced in energy efficiency, renewable energy, or utility industry.
- Proficiency in Zoom, Slack, Google Suite, and Airtable.
