About the position

The Managing Director in Corporate Finance & Restructuring at FTI Consulting is responsible for overseeing consulting projects that address the financial and transactional challenges faced by various stakeholders, including corporations and private equity sponsors. This role involves applying advanced analytical skills to create financial models, conduct due diligence, and prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients. The position also requires leadership in managing team interactions and ensuring the quality and timeliness of deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of consulting projects, including leadership and team interaction.
  • Apply business, economics, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to client situations.
  • Prepare complex financial projections and worksheets to model business processes.
  • Create detailed quantitative models to solve business problems based on key performance metrics.
  • Research, analyze, and track communications and media industry trends and developments.
  • Maintain detailed working paper records reflecting assumptions and methodologies used in analyses.
  • Ensure quality delivery of all work within established timeframes.
  • Prepare draft written analyses and reports for third parties on project scope and findings.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations and quantitative exhibits for third parties.
  • Organize information to facilitate effective data access and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Finance or Accounting/Audit.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience working with Corporate Finance and Accounting principles.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience with Financial Modeling, Valuations, and Due Diligence.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA
  • CPA and/or CFE certification
  • Prior experience in communications, media, consulting, or restructuring fields.
  • Ability to interface with team members and clients in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with internet-based financial research resources.
  • General knowledge of corporate bankruptcy and litigation processes.
