About the position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at 3M, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. You will make an impact by developing and implementing improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost, driving cost and productivity improvements, and engaging in daily operations to meet service targets.

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost
• Driving cost and productivity improvements by leading continuous improvement projects or capital investment projects
• Development and implementation of cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans
• Proactively communicates project direction and status to appropriate personnel
• Engagement and involvement in daily operations to meet service targets
• Flexible to provide support across different shifts of manufacturing operations as needed
• Realize growth opportunities by guiding new product introduction efforts and completing experimental runs
• Representing 3M Springfield during internal and external customer interactions and audits

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline
• Five (5) years of combined experience in project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology, product development, quality experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited university
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution
• Ten (10) years in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing engineering, process engineering, product engineering, and/or product development
• Experience in leading multi-functional teams through complex projects from planning to completion
• Experience in supporting new product development and commercialization
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
• Experience in chemical processing, coating and converting or Aerospace Industry
• Self-starter/self-directed that leads with high energy and passion
