About the position
Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. The Manufacturing Engineer II is the engineering/technical support for a medical instruments manufacturing area. This includes all aspects of the manufacturing of products (equipment, process, documentation of process, etc.). Expertise in machining (Swiss lathes & vertical machining centers) Use of SolidWorks to craft and build fixturing to aid assembly of devices. Automation experience with collaborative robots to aid the manufacturing environment. Strong software skills; Minitab, Power BI, etc. Technical writing to document work instructions, validations, etc. NOTE: If you have experience in most of these areas, please apply. Responsibilities
- Production Support for all production.
- Solving, process improvements, documentation, and training of operators.
- Support all quality activities (CAPA & NCR investigations, root cause investigations, etc.).
- Project work to include working with outside vendors on automation, process improvement projects, OPEX related activities, etc.
- Support projects and activities per strategic direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience.
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Technical writing skills.
- Experience with SolidWorks and fixturing.
