Responsibilities

  • Documenting and improving Molding Products' manufacturing processes.
  • Tracking yield, downtime, productivity, work instructions, best practices and corrective actions.
  • Proposing and implementing process improvements, including capital projects, to achieve manufacturing targets.
  • Working closely with the Plant Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, Quality Manager & Maintenance Supervisor on assigned projects.
  • Tracking key performance indicators critical to manufacturing excellence including quality, process, and safety.
  • Identifying significant quality cost improvement opportunities and leading corresponding projects.
  • Setting strategic direction in coordination with the plant engineering manager.
  • Evaluating processes for cost position, quality, and capability.
  • Making procedural changes and equipment modifications while utilizing management of change in a process safety management environment.
  • Developing and completing Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P & ID's) as required.
  • Initiating and implementing changes in design and engineering for greater efficiency.
  • Developing, documenting, and implementing training programs/materials, SOP's, etc.
  • Assisting HSEQ Manager in developing and maintaining plant safety, EPA, OSHA and ISO standard programs.
  • Hands-on involvement in corrective action including developing engineering solutions and procedural changes.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • BS Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering.
  • 5+ years' work experience in a similar position.
  • Experience with statistical process control and other quality improvement tools e.g. Lean Six Sigma, 6S, DMAIC, 8D problem solving.
  • Strong problem-solving skills developed through thorough investigation of a problem or process.
  • Strong understanding of batch chemical process equipment and technology.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of mixing and materials handling equipment.
  • Willing to 'get hands dirty' when troubleshooting plant problems.
