About the position

This position works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular division. The role involves initiating and completing technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes, preparing reports, publishing findings, and making presentations. The candidate will analyze and solve problems using engineering principles and develop knowledge in a field to become a recognized leader. Responsibilities include mentoring employees, leading project teams, and interacting with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and completes technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes.
  • Prepares reports, publishes, and makes presentations to communicate findings.
  • Analyzes and solves problems using basic engineering principles and complex advanced problems.
  • Develops knowledge in a field to become a recognized leader or authority.
  • Incorporates business policies and procedures into task completion.
  • Understands business needs and customer needs.
  • Cultivates internal and external networks to complete tasks.
  • Serves as a resource in the selection, orientation, and training of new engineers.
  • May lead a project team, determining goals and objectives.
  • Mentors employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback.
  • Interacts cross-functionally and with internal and external customers.
  • Acts as a consultant for engineering or scientific interpretations.
  • Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 0-2 years related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree (± 18 years).
  • 2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area.
  • Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • General understanding of business unit/group function.
