About the position

The position involves developing and implementing engineering solutions to enhance shop floor processes. The role requires creating detailed operator instructions for various processes and assisting the operations group with continuous improvement objectives regularly. Active communication with the hourly group is essential to address needs and implement process improvements. A structured problem-solving approach is necessary for resolving issues effectively.

Responsibilities

Support manufacturing to protect the customer
Member of product launch teams for manufacturing engineering support
Optimize machining and assembly programs to allow flexibility
Decrease setup and changeover times
Develop and maintain operator work instructions for all products
Define future technology requirements
Assist in defining long-range capital planning
Develop and maintain operator work instructions for Kitting/Distribution operations and assigned Assembly Cells

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required
Knowledge of tooling selection and optimization
Ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a time bound schedule required
Knowledge of IATF16949
Background in team approach to problem solving required

Nice-to-haves

AutoCad, NX, MSOffice, Mastercam, Mpact, or similar software/programming experience
Automotive background a plus
Capital equipment procurement background a plus
Preventative Maintenance and TPM a plus
Assembly experience a plus
Working knowledge of labor and machining standards preferred
