About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving industrial manufacturing methods. This role utilizes knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. The engineer will perform a variety of tasks including planning, purchasing, and installing equipment and machinery that leads the Value Stream into the future with the use of robotics and automation. Ensuring that equipment and processes are safe when released to operators is a critical aspect of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve industrial manufacturing methods.
  • Plan, purchase, and install equipment/machinery for automation and robotics.
  • Ensure safety of equipment/process before release to operators.
  • Set up and conduct design of experiments to validate engineering theories.
  • Act as an engineering resource for technical and maintenance personnel.
  • Consult with production personnel on tooling performance and process issues.
  • Create and modify tooling and process drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Maintain required documentation and update routing standards.
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization and workspace layout for efficiency.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs.
  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities and production schedules.
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange purchases.
  • Evaluate products based on specifications and quality standards.
  • Complete necessary documents accurately and fully.
  • Adhere to 5S standards and maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes and methods.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with robotics and automation in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
