McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing Inc. is committed to serving everyday heroes and is an industry leading designer and manufacturer of refuse truck bodies. McNeilus produces a complete line of high-performance rear load, front load, and automated side load refuse bodies to augment any refuse collection fleet. Our team members are critical in our mission of supporting waste warriors and keeping communities safe and clean. The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate manufacturing processes by developing, evaluating and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Please note: This role will require a qualified candidate to be located near our Dodge Center, MN facility. Dodge Center is located a short drive West of Rochester, MN. We offer a comprehensive relocation package to all qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh Corporation’s engineering standards and processes.
  • Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plants, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
  • Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity; may be responsible for managing multiple projects.
  • Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production build.
  • Analyze space requirements, workflow and designs layout for equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Review and process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, continuous improvement requests etc.
  • Participate in cost studies, project time estimation, and technical proposals.
  • Review legislative and regulatory proposals or actions to determine impact on projects.
  • Review and recommend fixture and tooling design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or related field.
  • One (1) – two (2) or more years of experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry.
  • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
