Responsibilities

  • Plan resources, analyze methods and movements, machinery efficiency, product design, process design and equipment or fixture design
  • Identify and develop improvement projects in the areas of safety, ergonomics, quality, and productivity using lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma, and automation
  • Create digital work instructions and / or operating procedures for manual assembly and equipment that meet the guidelines of safety, quality, lean manufacturing, and ergonomics
  • Develop new or modify existing production layouts, using AUTOCAD, time studies, & capacity analysis
  • Coordinate the implementation of Smart Factory tools such as Automatic Data Collection, Digital Score Cards (SIM), Vision Systems, along with engineering changes, 3F's and pilot runs
  • Evaluate, validate, and implement process design alternatives to create optimum systems for manual assembly, semi-automated and automated processes
  • Coordinate and/or participate in the development and updating of the PFMEA's and control plans
  • Design, develop and fabricate Poka Yoke and Jidoka fixtures
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to effectively manage Engineering/Manufacturing change orders
  • Work with external contractors as needed
