Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple engineering projects that support plant operations.
  • Represent CLI in a professional manner with customers and suppliers at all levels of their organization.
  • Active leader in problem solving analysis and developing irreversible corrective actions of quality issues.
  • Teach, lead and continuously improve all areas of the business.
  • Responsible to lead line balancing and process changes for current and future operations.
  • Interface with all aspects of operations including quality, materials and maintenance.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Understand CLI operations (Sequencing/sub-assembly, shipping and receiving).
  • Interface with CLI plant liaisons on a daily basis regarding any issues.
  • Follow and improve the CLI business systems.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
  • Effectively interact with, lead and develop people.
  • Work very closely with the other engineers to ensure continuity.
  • Customer focused.
  • Able to work with and effectively communicate with operators on the floor as well as CLI Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in assembly and/or manufacturing and demonstrated success as a person who solves problems.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience with the APQP system.
  • VAA or manufacturing experience.
  • Plant and assembly cell layout.
  • Experience with Elemental Time Studies and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Start-Up, Equipment Installation and Launch experience required.
  • Experience with PLC.
  • Understanding and experience of assembly tooling and equipment and ROBOTICS.
  • Tier 1 automotive experience is required.
  • Sub-assembly and Sequencing experience are required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
